Amazon Alexa News!
You have heard of various metrics related to domain authority proposed by Moz, Ahref, Semrush, and others. A similar metric that showcases the authority of the website and indicates its performance relative to its competitors was the Alexa Score.
Digital Marketers and website owners usually referred to this metric to determine the ranking in terms of daily unique visitors and number of page views over a period of 3 months, which is basically involved in the score calculation. The scores were to be improved like any other similar metric, which is by improving the quality of content, frequent updates, more keywords, and optimizing the metadata which involves page title and meta description.
Alexa is a California-based company founded in 1996 and was later acquired by Amazon in 1999. Unlike other analytic tools, multiple clicks on the same website page do not account for the increased number of views instead is considered as a single view. With time the consistency in the rank scores did not match with that of search results and accounted for further discrepancies. In spite of these shortcomings, Alexa was still a popular marketing tool.
Alexa score could be checked using any Alexa Rank Checker Tool or by installing Alexa Toolbar Extension. While Alexa Toolbar extension service has been discontinued since May 2022 with the support extended till December 2022.
With this move, the other free tools and services that depend on Alexa.com would gradually be discontinued after December 2022.
With the uncertainty of the score being used in the future, it is advisable to use alternatives like Moz, Semrush, and other scoring algorithms for checking the performance of your website. Amazon Alexa App with Automated Speech Recognition is still continuing, it's the ranking site that is being shut down. Readers must not confuse it with Alexa Voice Assistant.
